The Study on Jesus and His Teachings

This 31-day study is designed to deepen your understanding of Jesus' teachings and the foundation of His ministry. Each day focuses on a different scripture passage that highlights a key aspect of Jesus' message and mission. The accompanying journaling prompts encourage you to reflect on how these teachings impact your personal faith and daily life.

Throughout the study, you will explore themes such as:

  • Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life: Understanding His unique role in salvation and our relationship with God.
  • Being a Light in the World: How we can embody Jesus' light and share it with others.
  • Rest and Peace in Jesus: Finding solace and tranquility in His presence amidst life's burdens.

Each day's scripture and prompt are designed to foster personal reflection, encourage practical application, and deepen your spiritual journey. As you progress through this study, you will gain a richer understanding of who Jesus is, what He taught, and how you can live out His teachings in your everyday life. This study aims to strengthen your foundation in Christ, inspire you to live out your faith authentically, and equip you to share His love and message with others.

Week 1

Day 1:

  • Scripture: John 14:6
  • Prompt: Reflect on what it means to you that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. How does this shape your daily walk?

Day 2:

  • Scripture: Matthew 5:14-16
  • Prompt: In what ways can you be a light in your community? Write about a time when you felt you were a light to others.

Day 3:

  • Scripture: John 8:12
  • Prompt: How has following Jesus brought light into your life? Describe a situation where you felt His guidance.

Day 4:

  • Scripture: Matthew 11:28-30
  • Prompt: What burdens are you carrying that you need to give to Jesus? How do you find rest in Him?

Day 5:

  • Scripture: Luke 19:10
  • Prompt: Reflect on a time when you felt lost and how Jesus sought and saved you. How can you share this experience with others?

Day 6:

  • Scripture: John 10:11
  • Prompt: What does it mean to you that Jesus is the Good Shepherd? How do you experience His care in your life?

Day 7:

  • Scripture: Matthew 7:24-27
  • Prompt: How can you build your life on the foundation of Jesus’ teachings? Write about the areas where you need to strengthen your foundation.

Week 2

Day 8:

  • Scripture: John 15:5
  • Prompt: How do you stay connected to Jesus, the true vine? What fruits are evident in your life because of this connection?

Day 9:

  • Scripture: Matthew 6:33
  • Prompt: What does seeking God's kingdom first look like in your daily life? Write about a time when you prioritized God's kingdom and saw His provision.

Day 10:

  • Scripture: John 3:16
  • Prompt: Reflect on the significance of God's love for you. How does this scripture impact your understanding of salvation and eternal life?

Day 11:

  • Scripture: Luke 6:27-28
  • Prompt: How can you show love to those who may be difficult to love? Write about a specific person or situation where you can apply this teaching.

Day 12:

  • Scripture: Matthew 22:37-39
  • Prompt: How do you demonstrate love for God and love for your neighbor in your daily actions? Reflect on ways to deepen these expressions of love.

Day 13:

  • Prompt: How can you follow Jesus' example of serving others? Write about a recent experience where you served someone and how it impacted you.

Day 14:

  • Scripture: John 11:25
  • Prompt: What does the promise of resurrection and eternal life mean to you? How does it influence your perspective on life and death?

Week 3

Day 15:

  • Scripture: Matthew 16:24
  • Prompt: What does taking up your cross and following Jesus look like in your life? Write about the sacrifices you make as His disciple.

Day 16:

  • Scripture: John 6:35
  • Prompt: How does Jesus satisfy your spiritual hunger and thirst? Reflect on ways you can seek Him more fully.

Day 17:

  • Scripture: Matthew 5:9
  • Prompt: In what ways can you be a peacemaker in your family, community, or workplace? Write about a situation where you can bring peace.

Day 18:

  • Scripture: John 15:13
  • Prompt: How can you show sacrificial love to those around you? Reflect on the relationships where you can demonstrate greater love.

Day 19:

  • Scripture: Luke 9:23
  • Prompt: What daily practices help you deny yourself and follow Jesus? Write about the challenges and rewards of this commitment.

Day 20:

  • Scripture: John 14:27
  • Prompt: How do you experience the peace that Jesus gives? Reflect on a time when His peace overcame your fears.

Day 21:

  • Prompt: How can you participate in the Great Commission? Write about ways you can share your faith and make disciples in your community.

Day 30:

  • Scripture: John 14:15
  • Prompt: What commands of Jesus do you find most challenging to keep? Reflect on how you can demonstrate your love for Him through obedience.

Day 31:

  • Scripture: Matthew 7:7-8  
  • Prompt: What are you seeking from God in this season of your life? Write about your prayers and how you are trusting God to answer them.
