Do Not Grow Weary in Doing Good

In the journey of life, there are moments when the weight of challenges and trials can feel overwhelming. It's in these moments that the temptation to give up may be strongest. But remember, you are not alone. There is a source of strength and hope that transcends all circumstances.

As I was sitting in church this past Sunday, my husband’s childhood friend and roommate in college talked about when you feel like giving up, remember the words of Galatians 6:9: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." This verse reminds us that perseverance is key. Every small step forward, every act of kindness, every effort toward your goals, is not in vain. Keep pressing on, knowing that your efforts will bear fruit in due time……….BUT DON”T GIVE UP.

Take heed in the promise of Isaiah 40:31: But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Trust in God's unfailing love and provision. He will give you the strength to rise above your challenges, to run with endurance, and to keep moving forward, even when you feel weary.

In times of doubt or fear, turn to prayer and seek God's guidance. Philippians 4:13 assures us that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. With His help, we can overcome any obstacle and persevere through any trial.

Remember, your journey is not defined by the obstacles you face, but by how you respond to them. Each setback is an opportunity for growth, resilience, and faith. Keep your eyes fixed on the promises of God, knowing that He is with you every step of the way.

I encourage you: do not give up. Keep pressing on, keep believing, keep hoping. Your perseverance will lead you to the victory that awaits.

Here are some journaling prompts to help you on your journey of perseverance and not giving up:

  1. Reflect on a time when you faced a significant challenge or obstacle. How did you overcome it, and what strengths did you discover within yourself during that process?
  2. What are your biggest motivations and goals in life? How do they inspire you to keep going, even when things get tough?
  3. Describe a recent situation where you felt like giving up. What thoughts or emotions were present at that time, and how did you eventually push through?
  4. Write about a person or mentor who has been a source of encouragement and support for you. How have their words or actions influenced your ability to persevere?

     5. List three things you are grateful for today, no matter how small. How does           practicing gratitude help shift your perspective during challenging times?
