Have you ever felt like no matter how much you give, people only notice the one thing you didn’t do? My dad used to say, “You can do 99 things for someone, but that 1 thing you don’t do becomes the problem.” That truth has stuck with me — but it has also taught me something powerful: I don’t have to live for the approval of others.
That’s why I created this 7-day affirmation and journaling journey. Each day is designed to help you release the pressure to please everyone, stay rooted in your truth, and believe in yourself — without giving away your power.
Day 1 – Rooted in My Truth
When you know who you are, no one else’s approval can define you. Today, I stand firm in my truth, knowing my value is not up for debate.
Affirmation:
"My worth does not shift with someone else’s opinion; it is anchored in who I am."
Prompts:
-
What do I know to be true about myself, even when others disagree?
-
When have I stood firm in my beliefs and felt proud of it?
-
What boundaries protect my sense of self?
-
How can I honor my truth today, even in small ways?
-
Who in my life respects my boundaries and authenticity?
-
How do I want to respond when someone questions my choices?
-
What does “being rooted” feel like in my body and mind?
Day 2 – Releasing the Approval Trap
Trying to please everyone leaves you empty. Pleasing yourself fills you with life. Today, I choose myself.
Affirmation:
"I release the weight of needing to be liked; I am here to live, not to perform."
Prompts:
-
Where in my life do I feel pressured to please others?
-
What would change if I stopped trying to win everyone’s approval?
-
How do I feel when I disappoint someone — and what does that reveal?
-
What’s one thing I can do today purely for my own joy?
-
Whose opinions matter to me — and why?
-
How has people-pleasing affected my energy or self-worth?
-
How can I redefine “being enough” without external validation?
Day 3 – The Power I Keep
Every time you say “yes” when you mean “no,” you hand away a piece of yourself. Today, I hold my power close.
Affirmation:
"I do not bargain with my boundaries; my energy belongs to me first."
Prompts:
-
What situations have made me feel like I gave my power away?
-
What’s one time I said “no” and felt empowered by it?
-
How can I tell when I’m choosing from fear instead of truth?
-
What does protecting my energy look like in daily life?
-
What’s a boundary I’ve been afraid to set — and why?
-
Who in my life respects my “no” without pushing back?
-
What’s one empowering “no” I can say this week?
Day 4 – Self-Belief as My Compass
Believing in yourself is the strongest armor you can wear. Today, I walk with certainty, even when the path is unclear.
Affirmation:
"I trust my vision, even if no one else can see it yet."
Prompts:
-
When has self-belief carried me through?
-
What dreams do I hold that others might not understand?
-
How can I back myself more fully in decisions?
-
What does trusting myself feel like physically and emotionally?
-
What small win can I celebrate today to build confidence?
-
What voices in my head belong to others, not me?
-
How can I replace doubt with action this week?
Day 5 – Unshaken by the One Thing
You can do 99 things for someone, but they may only see the 1 you didn’t do. Today, I refuse to let that define me.
Affirmation:
"I am not measured by the moments I fall short, but by the truth of my intentions."
Prompts:
-
When have I felt unappreciated despite my efforts?
-
How can I reframe that experience as a lesson in boundaries?
-
How much of my worth have I tied to what I do for others?
-
How can I honor my contributions without overextending?
-
What’s one way I can show appreciation to myself today?
-
Whose gratitude truly fuels me — and whose absence of it no longer matters?
-
What would it feel like to act from love, not from obligation?
Day 6 – Standing in My Enoughness
When you live authentically, not everyone will clap — but that’s not your audience. Today, I live for my applause.
Affirmation:
"My life is not a stage; I am the audience that matters most."
Prompts:
-
Where have I been performing instead of living authentically?
-
How can I give myself the validation I often seek from others?
-
What parts of me do I hide out of fear of judgment?
-
How can I be more authentic as my true self today?
-
What would it look like to fully embrace my “enoughness”?
-
Who inspires me to be unapologetically myself?
-
How can I practice self-approval daily?
Day 7 – Choosing Me Without Guilt
Choosing yourself is not selfish — it’s self-respect. Today, I choose me without apology.
Affirmation:
"I choose myself with love, and the right people will understand."
Prompts:
-
What does choosing myself look like right now?
-
When have I put my needs first and seen my life improve?
-
How do I feel when I prioritize myself — and what stories do I tell about it?
-
How can I release guilt for honoring my needs?
-
Who in my life supports my self-prioritization?
-
What’s one thing I can do today that is just for me?
-
What reminder will keep me choosing myself this week?
For the next 7 days, you’ll have the chance to pause, reflect, and remind yourself that your worth is not defined by what you do for others — it’s grounded in who you are.
I can’t wait for you to experience this journey of choosing yourself, unapologetically. 💛
With love & strength,
Anika
